Robert Pattinson might be considered one of the sexiest men alive by his legions of Twilight fans, but recently Reese Witherspoon, his costar in Water for Elephants (which opens April 22), made some not-so-flattering comments about filming a sex scene with the actor. "Rob possibly had the most hideous horrible cold of any costar I've ever had to do a love scene with ever in my entire life," she told In Touch Weekly. "He was literally snorting and snotting through every second of it... I'm talking green, infectious, disgusting -- I’m not kidding!"
Witherspoon obviously didn't find her experience all bad, as she also told Entertainment Weekly, "(Robert Pattinson) is just so good-looking!"
So what's the truth? While at the red-carpet premiere of Water for Elephants in New York Sunday night, Witherspoon and Pattinson joked with Access Hollywood about Reese's indiscriminate comments.
"Let's just get something straight: It's still a sex scene with Rob Pattinson. I was havin' a very good time," laughed Witherspoon.
Pattinson, known for his ironic sense of humor, took the joke further, saying: "No, I know she secretly likes it. I mean, she likes it a little bit dirty... Green mucus, that's our thing." Watch the interview below:
Witherspoon -- who recently took a bit of time off from promoting Water for Elephants to go on her honeymoon with new husband Jim Toth and her two kids (with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe) -- looked glowing beside Pattinson on the red carpet, expressing gratitude to all of the fans who waited in line for hours.
While mucus is obviously nothing to sneeze at, Witherspoon and Pattinson seem to have come out of the ordeal just fine, and with a buzz-worthy film to boot -- Water for Elephants is one of the most highly anticipated romantic films of the year.
