She's seen her fair share of Olivia Palermo drama, tried to find love in the big city, worked for both Diane von Fürstenberg and Kelly Cutrone, but it seems that Whitney Port won't be returning for another season of "The City." MTV confirmed to MTV News that the show will not return for a third season.
" 'The City' will not be returning to MTV for season three," an MTV spokesperson said in a statement. "Whitney has been a part of our family for many years and we wish her and the cast the best, and hope to collaborate with them again."
News of the show's end first hit the Internet on Monday after Port called into Ryan Seacrest's radio show and revealed that her time on the show appeared to be over. "As of right now, it doesn't really look like we're doing it anymore," she said. "No, at this point it's not [going to another network]."
But the up-and-coming fashion designer said fans shouldn't worry too much about her; she has other big plans on the horizon. "I'm working on some other things," Port added. "It's OK. One door closes and another opens."
Port also addressed the show on her blog, writing, "As I'm sure some of you have heard, 'The City' will not be back for another season. It's always sad when one major chapter in your life comes to a close, but for me, this is the beginning of an entirely new one. I loved filming 'The City.' It was just such an adventure and I'm so grateful for every opportunity it gave me.
"I'm so excited for whatever is next for me," she continued. "There are definitely a few things in the works, but right now I'm primarily focusing on my clothing line Whitney Eve. After all, it is my baby. I'm just so happy to be back home, I can finally spend unlimited time with those I love. I want to thank you all for your continued support, you have no idea how much you mean to me. I'll be keeping you up to speed on everything going on in my life right here on my blog."
Port first rose to fame as Lauren Conrad's co-worker on "The Hills." She left the show to pursue her fashion career in NYC and, in the process, got her own "Hills" spin-off, "The City."
