Amber Portwood Pants On Fire: Fashion Fail
Fun. Ready To Burn Bright At MTV Movie Awards
Nate Ruess of fun.

Given that Fun. are the first musical act announced for the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, you'd think they'd be privy to all sorts of insider info on the big show, like potential hosts, nominees, etc. But, you'd be wrong. Turns out, they're just as much in the dark as the rest of us.
"We haven't heard anything. Who's going to be there?" frontman Andrew Ruess laughed. "Jackie Chan? Jon Bon Jovi? They better be there, for sure."
Sadly, we can't vouch for either gentleman's availability on June 3, when the Movie Awards air live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. But we can tell you that the guys in Fun. are planning on making the most of their time on stage, by going big with their performance of chart-topping smash "We Are Young."
"It's one of the most flattering things that's happened to us on this rollercoaster ride of this song and this album, because I just remember watching all those award shows — like the Video Music Awards and Movie Awards — and you always wonder like how they're doing it, what their big reveal is going to be, all those other type of things," Ruess said. "We've had meetings about how our set's going to be and what it's going to look like, and it's so exciting. It's so exciting how much effort MTV puts into this show, like, we have to show up and play the song, but they build this whole entire world around us, and it's so amazing."
"It's also an opportunity to have a performance that will be talked about forever," guitarist Jack Antonoff added. "Like, I still talk about [the 2000 VMAs], when Eminem had the thousand people dressed like him, or when Smashing Pumpkins did 'Tonight, Tonight' [at the '96 VMAs] ... these are moments that, for us, growing up, last forever, and if we could pull off something like that, it would be amazing."
And as if being tapped to perform at the 2012 Movie Awards wasn't already a big enough deal for the band, there's also the fact that they've got previous MTV awards-show experience ... though, to be fair, this will be the first time they've actually been invited to attend.
"I went to the Video Music Awards when I was 14. My friend from camp had a friend who had a dad who was involved, and we sat near Rebecca Lobo and the Spice Girls," Antonoff said. "It was the year that Fiona Apple gave the big speech, which, in hindsight, was pretty inspiring. My mind was blown, and I thought 'This is just filled with famous people, and somehow I'm in the middle of it.' So, to be able to go back to an MTV awards show — not through a friend of a friend who has a dad who works at Viacom — but to actually be invited, is an honor."
The 21st annual MTV Movie Awards air live Sunday, June 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.

Bobby Brown on Whitney Houston Death: Not My Fault!
"I didn't get high before I met Whitney," Brown says, seemingly blaming HER for HIS problems, although clarifying that he did smoke "weed" and drink prior to their relationship.
But Brown emphasized that he wasn't "the one that got Whitney on drugs at all" and that he feels "terrible" folks think otherwise.
Because, really people, the important thing here is how Bobby Brown feels.
Houston and Brown were married from 1992 to 2007 and are the parents of a daughter, Bobbi Kristina. The singer told Lauer that their one year of filming Being Bobby Brown had a profound affect on their recreational drug use.
"The reality show gave us a wakeup," he says. "We [were] able to see that our drug use had affected our relationship, had affected the love that we felt for each other."
When did Bobby last see Whitney? About a week prior to her passing. He said she "looked really well" at the time.
Brown - who pleaded out a DUI arrest just this week in order to avoid jail time - said he was shocked and "hurt" when he learned Houston died with cocaine in her system. At the end of the day...
"I love that woman with everything that I am. And I believe she loved me the same way. We wouldn't have been able to make the most beautiful girl in the world - without love. And that's the truth."

Celebs to Jessica Simpson: Where is the Baby?!
Maybe it's the non-stop Jessica Simpson quotes concerning her pregnancy that have slowed. Maybe it's the rumor that she already gave birth (false).
Whatever the reason, some inquiring minds really want to know on Twitter.
"Has Jessica Simpson had that baby yet?! I'm anxious," Katy Perry wrote.
Chelsea Handler was thinking the same thing. "How has jessica simpson still not given birth to this baby? I'm getting frightened," she wrote.
So are we. Simpson, who is still pregnant, announced her pregnancy on Halloween, six full months ago, well after tabloids got wind of it.
It's got to be due any minute now. Whenever little Maxi arrives, you can expect the fiancee of Eric Johnson to Tweet non-stop updates.
Seriously. This is a 31-year-old woman who has mused about her "swamp ass" and "the big O" of pregnant sex. There's no such thing as TMI.

'Django Unchained' First Look: Leonardo DiCaprio Heads South
Leonardo DiCaprio in "Django Unchained"
Photo: Columbia Pictures/EW
For years, Quentin Tarantino has toyed with the Western, peppering homages to directors like Sergio Leone into "Kill Bill" and "Inglourious Basterds," but now the director is finally taking on the genre with "Django Unchained," albeit in his own twisted way.
Most of Tarantino's secrets have stayed on the set, but Thursday (April 26) Entertainment Weekly debuted the first official look at just how far west Tarantino is going in "Django Unchained."
What separates the film from your usual Western is that it's actually what Tarantino calls a "southern," taking place primarily in the pre-Civil War South. The first photos show off the unique style of the film and reveal what Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz will look like when "Django Unchained" opens in theaters on December 25.
The photo of Foxx and Waltz could be straight out of a traditional Western. Foxx, as title character Django, carries his saddle over his shoulder and wears a prototypical cowboy hat. His companion, Dr. King Schultz, played by Waltz, is a German dentist-turned-bounty-hunter, and his more sophisticated getup reflects that.
It isn't until we see DiCaprio's evil plantation owner, Calvin Candie, that we find the connection to the Deep South. In the photo, DiCaprio is dressed up like a fine Southern gentleman, but he poses menacingly with a hammer in his hand.
EW spoke with Foxx about working on the sure-to-be controversial film, which addresses slavery like never before.
"There's a beautiful way [Tarantino] found for the characters to talk to each other. It's mind-blowing. You've never heard it this way," Fox told the magazine. "You've seen movies deal with slavery — or Westerns that never dealt with slavery — do it the safe way.
This way is like ... wow."
Check out everything we've got on "Django Unchained."

James Franco Teases Screen Time With Rihanna
James Franco
Photo: Neilson Barnard/ Getty Images
James Franco recently made headlines when he posted a video of himself singing Rihanna's Dr. Luke joint "You Da One" on the Internet. The clip was short, sweet and a bit out of nowhere.
But if you think that Franco was in one of his performance-art moments when he created the viral video, think again. It turns out he's just a fan of the colorful singer. "[It] didn't take a lot of work [to lip-synch to her song]," he confessed to MTV News at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Tuesday. "But I do like Rihanna."
In fact, his biggest confession about his connection to the singer came next. It seems the two were thisclose to working together on her 2011 "We Found Love" video. As the story goes, before male model Dudley O'Shaughnessy landed the role as Ri's troubled leading man, Franco had the opportunity to be cast as one-half of that rocky romance.
"She actually asked me to be in that video, the one with the relationship that gets crazy," he dished. "I couldn't do it. But, I guess, I hope that that means there's mutual love between us."
Well, apparently these two are getting a second chance to work together, and this time it's on the big screen. Franco teased that Rihanna may appear in pal Seth Rogen's flick "The Apocalypse," which follows a slew of celebs playing themselves. They're partying at Franco's house when they learn the apocalypse is coming.
"I think she's gonna be in the new movie that I'm doing, Seth Rogen's directorial debut," he shared. "I think she has a little part in that."

Taylor Swift's Girls' Time with Selena & Dianna
Taking to Twitter to share her evening with everyone, 19-year-old Gomez posted a montage of pictures with an accompanying message reading, ?Because you need a best friend that?s sings beautifully, another best friend to dance with you and another to listen. Oh and cupcakes? Cupcakes" and Swift followed up by re-tweeting the message.
Getting in on the picture posting, Miss Swift re-tweeted pictures earlier in the day showing herself dressed up in some old fashioned attire with a group of girls - among them being "Glee" darling Dianna Agron.
With one of the snaps showing the girls dressed in fluffy dresses and flowers in their hair, Taylor tweeted, "We dressed up full-time fancy and went out in celebration of Shirley MacLaine's birthday."
Despite these girls' busy and famous lifestyles, it certainly seems that they place an importance on making time for their friend - and they seem to be pretty good ones, too.
Recently, Demi Lovato gushed to Seventeen magazine about her friendship with Selena, fondly remembering, ?Selena and I, we never fight. She?s not a confrontational person at all. Both of them will never leave my life no matter what happens, because we?ve been through so much together.?

Dear Beyonce: Why We Love You Till The End Of Time
By Jocelyn Vena
<P>These days, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyoncé</a> is breaking down her personal "fourth wall," letting fans into her life more and more, after living as a pop-star enigma for more than a decade.
</P><P>
</P><P>She recently re-launched her website, began tweeting, <a href="/news/articles/1682565/beyonce-tumblr-personal-pics.jhtml">started a personal Tumblr</a> account and even <a href="/news/articles/1683546/beyonce-skypes-remix-contest.jhtml">Skyped with a contest winner</a> this week after her "End of Time" remix competition.
</P><P>
</P><P>Somewhere in there, Blue Ivy's mama found the time to handwrite letters to several famous people and post them on her site. She <a href="http://www.beyonce.com/news/michelle-obama" target="_blank">shared</a> her warm, fuzzy feelings for some key figures, including First Lady Michelle Obama, the late New York artist <a href="http://www.beyonce.com/news/basquiat" target="_blank">Jean-Michel Basquiat</a> and <a href="http://www.beyonce.com/news/sade" target="_blank">R&B star Sade </a>. In honor of that, I decided to turn this week's <i>Above the Buzz</i> into a letter to Beyoncé, in the key of B, of course.
</P><P>
</P><P><CENTER><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:724613/cp~name%3Dnews%26id%3D1676907%26vid%3D724613%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A724613" width="430" height="242" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></CENTER>
</P><P>
</P><P><i>Dear Beyoncé,<br>
</P><P>First off, I just want to say "Hey Girl!" You're truly an inspiration to girls everywhere. You represent ladies in a great way, what with your girl power anthems and messages of female independence.
</P><P>
</P><P>And it seems these days, in spite of how busy you are, you're focused on <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/04/19/beyonce-back-to-school-new-york/">heading back to school</a>. Education is a really awesome message to spread to all the young women out there. Stay in school kids, right, B?
</P><P>
</P><P>Next, I just want to let you know that I am still into <a href="/news/articles/1665479/beyonce-4-leak.jhtml"></i>4.<i></a> It's a pretty great album to just leave on repeat while I'm at work or just living life. I mean, those are some <i>jams</i> on there. And, not to quote you or anything, but you shared with Sade that her music helps you get through times, good and bad — well, back at you.
</P><P>
</P><P>Also, you've been rocking some awesome street style recently. Those "cat" flats you donned a few weeks back have me dreaming of kitschy, animal-themed couture every night. I can only imagine the kind of crazy looks you are planning for the string of shows you have lined up <link type="content" id="1681308">next month in Atlantic City. I assume my tickets are in the mail?
</P><P>
</P><P>Anyway, I don't want to take up too much of your time. I know you're busy being a mom and working on new music and probably prepping for your show and all, but if you and Jay-Z can make the time, I think I can pencil you guys in for dinner or whatever. I'm cool with wherever you guys pick. You know me, pretty easy-going and all. Alright then, talk to you later.
</P><P>
</P><P>Your girl,<br>

Adele Notches Best Sales Year Since Usher's Confessions
By Gil Kaufman
<P>The music industry has been stuck in a rut for nearly a decade. But every once in a while, it still manages to produce one of those unstoppable hit albums that give everyone that good old feeling.
</P><P>
</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Rolling in the Deep" id="vid:604336" width="240" height="211"></div><p>
</P><P>
</P><P>This year's model is <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/adele/artist.jhtml">Adele</a>'s <I>21</I>, which not only sold more copies than any other album in the U.S. in 2011 (more than 5.6 million to date), but which has also moved the most units of any artist since 2004. According to a <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/12/27/us-adele-idUSTRE7BQ10V20111227" target="_blank"><I>Reuters</I> report</a>, those gaudy figures (which top 15 million worldwide) make the British songbird the first artist to cross the 5 million mark in one year since Usher did it with his fourth studio album, <I>Confessions</I>, which sold 7.9 million units more than seven years ago.
</P><P>
</P><P>And to think she did it by releasing just two mega singles, <a href="/news/articles/1675976/adele-rolling-in-the-deep-best-song-2011.jhtml">"Rolling in the Deep"</a> and "Someone Like You," and barely touring North America due to <a href="/news/articles/1674453/adele-throat-surgery-recovery.jhtml">recurring vocal issues.</a>

</P><P>
</P><P>There have been other big hits along the way to Adele's mark, including Eminem selling more than 3.4 million copies of his comeback <I>Recovery</I> album last year and Taylor Swift taking the honors in 2009 with <I>Fearless</I>, which sold 3.2 million copies. But none have come as close to Usher's mark in the interim.
</P><P>
</P><P>There doesn't seem to be any chance Adele will be surpassed by the end of the year: The closest contenders are Lady Gaga's <I>Born This Way</I> (2.08 million) and Michael Bublé's <I>Christmas</I> (2.4 million). The other good news is that overall music sales are expected to be up slightly (3 percent) by the end of this year, marking the first time that's happened since 2004.</p>

'Glee'-Cap: Michael Jackson Invades McKinley High
By Jim Cantiello
<P>"Glee" paid tribute to Michael Jackson during Tuesday night's episode and, shockingly, kept the story moving along in the midst of several MJ-inspired musical numbers. Kurt, Rachel and Quinn all received great news about college, Rachel finally accepted Finn's proposal and evil Sebastian's plot to harm Kurt with a doctored slushee backfired when Blaine took the hit for his boyfriend.

</P><P>L.A. probate attorney Jeffrey S. Cohen told the magazine that while this is "a very unusual situation," it could be "a sign that the couple's wedding is around the corner.

</P><P>"This is probably a compromise between Britney, her father and Trawick to get the marriage off on the right foot. Obviously, her future husband needs to have a say in her well-being," Cohen added.

In the years since, Spears has appeared to get her life solidly back on track, releasing two multiplatinum albums, launching two successful world tours and regaining custody of her young sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

'Think Like A Man': How It Knocked 'Hunger Games' Off Its Throne

The success of "Think Like a Man" shouldn't surprise anyone. For starters, it's based on a best-selling self-help book by Steve Harvey, and many box-office experts had predicted that it would finally be the movie to knock "The Hunger Games" out of its #1 spot.
But it was unclear just how big "Think Like a Man" would be. The film grossed $33 million over the weekend and according to Box Office Mojo's weekend wrap-up, "the movie had an 'A' CinemaScore, which went up to an 'A+' among men and those under the age of 25."
As Vulture put it, "It's hard to overstate the enormity of the 'TLAM' victory this past weekend." $33 million may not sound like a lot when compared to the opening weeks of "The Hunger Games" and its box-office tear, but there are two things to consider when looking at that number: competition and screens.
"Think Like a Man" had two worthy opponents to defeat on its way to box-office glory. First, there was the reigning champion, "The Hunger Games." Even in its fifth week, the YA adaptation still showed signs of life, crossing the $350 million mark this weekend. Then, there was "The Lucky One,' which boasted the Nicholas Sparks brand name and an adult role from teen heartthrob Zac Efron. On paper, these two could have proved too much for the rom-com, especially when you consider the second factor.
The large haul for "Think Like a Man" is so much more impressive when you compare the number of screens each film played on. "The Hunger Games," even in its fifth weekend, was still playing on 3,752 screens, almost twice as many as "Think Like a Man," and yet the latter did more than two times the business. Just as telling, "The Lucky One" debuted on 1,000 more screens than "Think Like a Man," yet made more than $10 million less.
BoxOffice.com editor Phil Contrino said that the success was due in large part to the community the film was aimed at. "There aren't many films that are made specifically for African-American audiences, and when it a good one comes out, that community gets behind it in a big way," he said.
Check out everything we've got on "Think Like a Man."

Lil Wayne, Usher Help Romeo Santos 'Revolutionize' Bachata Music
By Christina Garibaldi
<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/romeo_santos/artist.jhtml">Romeo Santos</a>, the former lead singer of the popular bachata group <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/aventura/artist.jhtml">Aventura</a>, has taken a new step in his career, venturing out on his own as a solo artist. Mixing his signature bachata flair with some R&B, he is showing fans a whole new side on his debut album, <i>Formula, Vol. 1.</i>
</P><P>
</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Romeo Breaks Into Mainstream With Lil Wayne" id="vid:734074" width="240" height="211"></div><p>
</P><P>
</P><P>Hoping to spread his unique sound and style to a mainstream audience, Santos enlisted <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lil_wayne/artist.jhtml">Lil Wayne</a> for his latest single, "All Aboard."
</P><P>
</P><P>"This song 'All Aboard,' that tune allowed me to expand and kind of offer my audience something totally different because it's not bachata — I'm singing English and that was really fun," Santos recently told MTV News. "I was a little nervous about that, but people actually really accepted it."
</P><P>
</P><P>Santos and Weezy recently shot the video for "All Aboard" in Miami; he called the clip "sexy," "seductive" and "elegant," but also revealed that this collaboration came very close to not making his album.
</P><P>
</P><P>"I was just like, I like the song but it's missing something, and at first I couldn't figure out what it was," Santos said. "What we did was we left 16 bars open, and I was like, you know, who would rip this track? Lil Wayne. So we reached out. It barely made the album because he's a busy dude, so he actually got on the record two months after we submitted it. It was like, if we don't get his vocals in the next two days we hit, and we got it, so we made it and the song is just really great."
</P><P>
</P><P>Wayne isn't the only artist Santos pulled in for his album. On his last single, "Promise," he teamed up with <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a>, who last week joined him onstage at <a href="/news/articles/1678993/romeo-santos-solo-tour.jhtml">Santos' first of three sold-out shows</a> at New York's Madison Square Garden.
</P><P>
</P><P>"I felt at that moment once again I was going to revolutionize bachata 'cause it was the first time that you hear an artist from the mainstream singing bachata," Santos said. "It was a big deal."

Usher And Diplo Found 'Chemistry' On 'Climax'
By Zachary Swickey
<P><b>MADISON, Wisconsin</b> — It was just four years ago that <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/diplo/artist.jhtml">Diplo</a> put his production prowess on full display with M.I.A.'s mega-hit <a href="http://www.mtv.com/videos/mia/195024/paper-planes.jhtml">"Paper Planes."</a> Since then, the DJ/producer has become a go-to producer for major acts like Usher, whose latest single, R&B jam "Climax," features work from the Philadelphia native.
</P><P>
</P><P>On Tuesday, MTV News hit up the first stop on the campus-themed <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2012/03/28/diplo-chiddy-bang-axe-one-night-only-tour">AXE One Night Only Tour</a> in Wisconsin, and we caught up with the headlining DJ to talk about his upcoming projects.
</P><P>
</P><P>"We got really luck on that one," he said of the track from Usher's upcoming album. "We just had great chemistry. I was super-nervous working with him the first two days. ... The way we did it, it was just a super-open format. He was down to do whatever we were excited about.
</P><P>
</P><P>"I love Usher," Diplo gushed. "I'm an Usher fan. I love him for records like 'Confessions Pt. II' and 'Burn,' those are some of the first R&B records from my generation that are still lasting forever. And we did some uptempo stuff too. I don't know what'll make the album, but I think there are definitely three songs that'll make it."
</P><P>
</P><P>Diplo is currently involved with a number of projects and luckily he was willing to dish. After working last summer with <a href="/news/articles/1670849/no-doubt-album-release.jhtml">No Doubt on their upcoming record</a>, the producer revealed he had good news to share.
</P><P>
</P><P>"We just finished. I was actually in Jamaica last month and I went in and did some extra stuff on that record," he told us. "I'm super-excited. It's probably going to be a single for their album. They've been [tweeting] about the song, so they're excited about it. I think it's going to be a 'No Doubt featuring Major Lazer' record, because we were producers, and there's another artist on it, too, that we recorded in Jamaica.
</P><P>
</P><P>"But you'll have to wait," Diplo warned, "I don't know how far off that record is, but every song I've heard is a bona-fide hit. '
</P><P>
</P><P>The superstar DJ also recently took to his Facebook page and casually mentioned that he's already started production on 18 tracks for a record with <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/snoop_dogg/artist.jhtml">Snoop Dogg</a>.
</P><P>
</P><P>"Snoop Dogg is an icon, man; he's bigger than the music," Diplo said. "What we're doing is a reggae record. It's like Snoop Dogg and Major Lazer together. It's all reggae and he's singing and he's doing a f---ing awesome job and I never knew it, but he had his heart in every song. ... We're going to get back into the production of it next month, and I'm really proud of that record. It's the first record I've ever executive-produced and his crew is amazing.

Michael Jackson Immortal Tour: How They Uphold The Legacy
By Uptin Saiidi
<P><b>NEWARK</b> — Since its opening, <a href="/news/articles/1682347/michael-jackson-immortal-cirque.jhtml">Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour</a> by Cirque Du Soleil has honored the King of Pop through music, dance and acrobatics 117 times. Night after night, artists celebrate the life of the late Michael Jackson, but how do they take his iconic legacy and put it into a production? When the tour came to New York City this week, MTV News went behind the scenes to talk with the creative forces and performers to find out.
</P><P>
</P><P>The artists (all 65 of them) had limited time to train and learn choreography -- an especially difficult feat when it's honoring MJ's signature moves. It was a kind of pressure that creative director Tara Young certainly learned to channel into a positive force.
</P><P>
</P><P><CENTER><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:755805/cp~vid%3D755805%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A755805" width="430" height="242" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></CENTER>
</P><P>
</P><P>"I think it is a pressure for sure; something I share with the whole building here is that we have nothing to prove, only to share," Young told MTV News. "We have an opportunity to share what Michael would have wanted to share and the pressure is only there to achieve excellence."
</P><P>
</P><P>For Felix Cane, a two-time world champion pole dancer who does a captivating performance to "Danger," it was all about using that pressure to help the audience to remember the pop icon. "You are sharing this passion with them, and this love of MJ. There's times in the show when some people and I, myself, might have shed a few tears."
</P><P>
</P><P>That pressure never felt as great as when the Jackson family sat in the front row at a show in Montreal, an experience Young described as "inspiring." When asked what MJ would think if he were sitting there with them, Young smiled, "He would feel such a sense of pride of what he has given us to work with. It evokes emotions in people that they didn't even know were going to come out."
</P><P>
</P><P>I think everyone feels inspired, which evokes a certain feeling of change," Young added. "You feel a sadness too because he is not with us anymore, and that is an emotion that is wonderful too actually ... just to honor him."
</P><P>
</P><P>The tour will continue in North America through the summer, before heading to Europe this fall.
